Pulsed Dye Laser for Telangiectasia (red facial blood vessels)
The pulsed dye laser (PDL) uses targeted laser energy to heat and destroy fine blood vessels in the skin called telangiectasia. This safe, popular device is highly effective at fading unwanted redness from rosacea, sun damage, and some types of scarring. The same laser can also be used to treat small red “cherry” angiomas and vascular birthmarks including port wine stains and hemangiomas.
Depending on the treatment settings used, each PDL session will result in either a sunburn-like appearance with mild swelling or localized bruising that fades within 7-10 days. Ask your Advanced Dermcare skin professional for more information if you are interested in learning more about this cosmetic treatment.
